Celebrating 20 Years by Giving Back!

As part of our 20th anniversary celebration, Taste of Rhode Island is giving back to the community that has supported it since its formation. Taste of Rhode Island, in partnership with Amica Insurance and Will Paint for Food, is proud to support the Rhode Island Community Food Bank. For twenty-five years, the RI Community Food Bank has worked to ensure that every Rhode Islander has access to the healthy, nutritious food they need. It distributes approximately eight million pounds of food to persons in need through a network of over 300 member agencies.

Our guests are encouraged to bring a non-perishable item to the festival, and Taste of Rhode Island is happy to donate a portion of their proceeds to this vital organization.

amicaAmica
Take a break from eating and see what Amica has in store for you at the Amica Family Fun Area. Amica will be giving attendees the chance to become dancing machines, no talent required, with Dance Heads! Dance Heads uses video technology to superimpose participants’ heads on professional dancers’ bodies while they sing along to some of the greatest pop hits of all times. Amica is asking participants to donate a non-perishable food item to the RI Community Food Bank in order to join in on the fun. In addition, children will also have a chance to get in the culinary spirit by decorating chefs’ hats. Stop by and enjoy some family fun with Amica! Dance more. Worry less. Because with Amica, your covered.

will paint for foodWill Paint for Food
Will Paint for Food, a collaboration between Providence artist Shawn Kenney and Rhode Island Monthly food writer Lydia Walshin (creator of Ninecooks and The Perfect Pantry), supports hunger relief through the sale of art. A portion of proceeds from the sale of original works, prints, and note cards is donated to agencies working to end hunger through education, outreach, and food distribution.

Taste of Rhode Island happily donates a portion of their proceeds to Will Paint for Food. Visit willpaint.com for more information on this important project.
